____________Hello, my name is Vanessa Blokland and I’m a 2D artist from Kennebunk, Maine. I recently received my Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Game Development and Interactivity under the Art and Animation track from Champlain College. I grew up falling in love with cartoons and now I can finally start making my own. I have a passion for everything two-dimensional and I am eager to work on any project involving it.
My favorite programs to use are Adobe Illustrator, Flash and Photoshop, and I am willing to learn any program that is out there to further expand my skill set. I enjoy using traditional media to get my ideas down on paper and then using my computer to alter and perfect them.
In my free time I love watching movies, bike riding, swimming, star gazing, canoeing, listening to music, and bird watching. I am a big animal lover and volunteered at a local aquarium while at college.
Another favorite past time of mine is going to the theater. I have loved seeing all kinds of plays and musicals ever since my youth. Being introduced to the performing arts helped me understand the importance of plot and character develoment. I hope to use these concepts throughout my work.
